Clarkson’s Fight for Life
After undergoing major heart surgery last year, Jeremy Clarkson has made significant lifestyle changes, determined to extend his time with his growing family.
The Clarkson’s Farm star, 64, faced a health scare in October that resulted in emergency surgery and the fitting of two heart stents. Now, he’s embracing a more active lifestyle, driven by a newfound perspective on longevity.
Writing in The Sunday Times, Clarkson reflected on his wake-up call, admitting that his past efforts to stay fit had been less than successful. “Michelangelo’s David burns more calories than I do when I’m out and about,” he remarked, acknowledging that his sedentary habits had taken a toll.
However, since his operation, the former Top Gear host has committed to making real changes, including taking up Pilates — an experience he describes with typical self-deprecating humor. He noted that sessions have revealed his body to be in worse shape than he had imagined, comparing his posture to "a broken shotgun."
Despite his usual irreverence, Clarkson’s motivation is deeply personal. With two grandchildren, the most recent born just before Christmas, he is determined to be around to see them grow up. “I have decided that it is so wonderful that I want it to go on for as long as is humanly possible,” he wrote.
Beyond his health journey, Clarkson recently gave fans an exciting update on the future of Clarkson’s Farm. While season four is set to be released soon, he confirmed that Prime Video has renewed the show for a fifth season.
As he continues to navigate both farming and fitness, Clarkson remains as outspoken as ever — only now, he’s applying that same determination to dodging what he calls "sniper’s alley."
