Pop Icon to Fashion Mogul
Cara Delevingne recently revealed that Victoria Beckham was not too pleased with her comments about the Spice Girls. Victoria, a former member of the legendary girl band, had grown weary of the incessant inquiries following the group’s disbandment in 2001. This decision had sent shockwaves around the globe, despite Geri Halliwell’s departure three years prior.
Fans continue to yearn for a complete reunion of the group, with Geri, Emma Bunton, Mel B, and Mel C having already shared the stage once more. However, an official reunion featuring Victoria is yet to occur, although all five members did gather for Victoria’s 50th birthday celebration earlier this year.
The Spice Girls, known for hits like “Spice Up Your Life” and “Wannabe,” were a defining element of the '90s. Despite the hopes of Cara and many others for a reunion, Victoria recently confirmed that it won’t be happening as they approach their 30th anniversary.
Victoria, now a successful fashion designer with her own brand, maintains contact with her former bandmates but has no plans for a comeback tour. In a recent interview with Radio France, she stated, “We do have a group chat. I do speak to all the girls. It would be lovely for us to do something to celebrate [the 30th anniversary] a dinner or a lunch and reminisce. But yes, it will not be any more than that."
She firmly asserted that her days as a girl band member are over, saying, “I’m so proud of what I achieved with the Spice Girls but now, for me, it’s about empowering people through fashion and beauty. There have been lots of rumours about tours and performances, but that will not happen. But I’d love to celebrate with the girls in another way, just me and them."
