Star-Studded Love
In a union of sports and media, former Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius and Italian DAZN television presenter Diletta Leotta exchanged vows on the breathtaking Aeolian island of Vulcano. The ceremony, held on a Saturday, was a star-studded event attended by family, friends, and a host of VIPs.
Among the notable attendees were Michelle Hunziker, Elisabetta Canalis, Elodie, and Eleonora Berlusconi, who had the honor of being the bride’s witness. The Therasia Resort, renowned for its stunning views, served as the perfect backdrop for the couple’s special day. Adding to the romantic atmosphere, Diletta made her entrance to the tune of John Legend’s “All of Me.”
The festivities kicked off with a lavish ‘white party’ to welcome the 160 guests and celebrate Karius’ birthday. The bride, dressed by Atelier Eme, wore a veil embroidered with the phrase ‘All I ever wanted.’ Karius, the former Liverpool keeper, complemented her in a white tuxedo.
Accompanied by her father and a small bouquet of flowers, Diletta walked down the aisle towards Karius, who stood at the altar with his mother. The ceremony was particularly poignant for the couple’s daughter, Aria, who will celebrate her first birthday in August.
As the sun set over the beautiful island, Karius and Diletta pledged their love to each other, overlooking the sea. Born in Sicily in 1991, Diletta chose to celebrate her big day close to her roots. The couple, who have been together since October 2022, welcomed their daughter in August 2023.
Karius in Football
Karius began his journey with Liverpool in 2016, signing from Mainz for a fee of £4.75 million. His time at Liverpool was challenging, marked by two errors in the 2018 Champions League final against Real Madrid, later attributed to concussion. Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, insisted that the incident was not an excuse, but an explanation for the defeat.
Karius, who also had loan spells at Besiktas and Union Berlin, played a total of 49 matches for Liverpool. As of June, the 31-year-old will be leaving Newcastle due to his contract expiration.
In a recent commentary, Sam McGuire argued that Karius is not just the new Sergio Ramos he’s even better. According to McGuire, Calafiori is the perfect fit for Liverpool.
