Healing with Gratitude
Fearne Cotton has delivered an uplifting health update following her surgery to remove two non-cancerous tumours from her face. The 43-year-old TV personality took to Instagram to share the encouraging news that a recent ultrasound revealed “no trace of tumour left” on her parotid gland. Along with this positive revelation, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude, offering a glimpse into her emotional healing process as she connected with her 3.9 million followers.
But Cotton didn’t stop at the clinical update. True to her raw and thoughtful style, she opened up about the process of coming to terms with her changing appearance, her body’s resilience, and the power of slowing down. She included a carousel of images showing her jawline in different stages of recovery a bold move that many fans praised for its honesty and courage.
“It’s not overly graphic, but definitely more intense than the first photo,” Fearne explained, adding that the entire process was “intriguing” and left her feeling “incredibly thankful that the surgery was successful and the tumour benign.”
She praised her surgeon, Professor O’Flynn, and the hospital team, especially “Nurse Jackie,” who, in Cotton’s words, was “absolutely wonderful” for encouraging her to put down her phone and take the time to rest. “I definitely needed a few stern reminders,” she joked.
The experience, she says, left her reflective and recharged. And it’s sparked a surge of creativity. Cotton revealed she’s now deep into writing a new book one she’s felt compelled to write more than any before. “I’m not sure I’ve ever felt more desperate to write a book,” she admitted, teasing that this next project may carry the emotional depth of her recent experiences.
Cotton also took time to send love and strength to fans who’ve reached out with similar stories or upcoming surgeries of their own. Her openness has clearly struck a chord, offering a sense of solidarity and reassurance to many going through similar journeys.
Fearne Cotton has received support from celebrity friends, including Davina McCall, who recently had surgery herself. Cotton described McCall as a "good mate" and a source of positivity during tough times. Cotton’s journey is about more than just surgery it’s about embracing resilience, self-care, and the creativity that comes with healing. Her scar, she says, will always remind her to slow down and prioritize herself.
