Edison Alcaide, a newcomer to the screen, has been cast as Jean Charles de Menezes, while Daniel Mays will portray Cliff Todd, the Principal Forensic Investigator assigned to uncover the truth in the aftermath of the failed 7/7 attack. Mays’ role is pivotal as he delves into the chaos and mistakes that followed the tragedy. The star-studded cast also includes Game of Thrones veteran Conleth Hill as Met Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair, Years and Years star Russell Tovey as Deputy Assistant Commissioner Brian Paddick, and Max Beesley of The Gentlemen fame as Assistant Commissioner Andy Hayman. Emily Mortimer, known for her role in Paddington in Peru, takes on the role of Cressida Dick, the Gold Commander of the surveillance operation tasked with pursuing those responsible for the bombings. Also joining the cast are Gavin Stacey’s Laura Aikman as Lana Vandenberghe, the Independent Police Complaints Commission secretary, and The Crown’s Alex Jennings as barrister Michael Mansfield KC.
