Frank Skinner's Secret "I Do"
Comedian Frank Skinner has quietly tied the knot with his partner of over two decades, Cath Mason, in an understated wedding that perfectly reflected their private nature.
The 68-year-old entertainer, best known for his wit and irreverence, revealed the news on his podcast Frank Off The Radio, where he stunned co-hosts by dropping the unexpected marriage bombshell. The couple wed in a minimalist ceremony at Camden Town Hall on Monday — with no traditional fanfare, not even a wedding room. Instead, they stood together "on the stairs," with their 11-year-old son Buzz as the only guest and official witness.
Skinner met Mason in 2001 when she worked as a receptionist at his management company. Their romance has remained largely out of the public eye, and this private wedding was no exception. The comic explained that the decision to keep things low-key was entirely in line with Mason’s preferences, recalling her firm opposition to traditional wedding trappings — no party, no guests, no ring, and certainly no white dress.
Still, Skinner expressed some regret over leaving friends out of the event, hinting that a celebration might happen in the future. “Don’t be offended, we didn’t invite anyone. Buzz was a witness. We got married not in a room but on the stairs at Camden Town Hall,” he shared during the podcast episode.
Their son Buzz was born in 2012, and Skinner has often spoken about the profound changes fatherhood brought to his life. A recovering alcoholic who’s been sober since 1986, Skinner once told Lorraine that his sobriety has helped him become a more present and mindful parent.
For a man who’s spent a career making audiences laugh, Skinner’s wedding announcement shows that sometimes, the biggest life moments happen without a spotlight — just stairs, a son, and the person you’ve loved for over 20 years.
