Nigella’s Naughty Secrets
Nigella Lawson, the renowned TV cook and beloved culinary author, has recently shared some unexpected personal habits that have left her fans intrigued. At 64, Lawson has built a loyal following with her earthy approach to food and her distinctive narration style. Now, she's opening up about her unique eating practices both in the bedroom and the kitchen.
“I am very pro-eating in bed. I will eat absolutely anything in bed except something that needs a knife and fork. It has to be either fingers or a spoon,” Lawson confessed to The Times. This revelation showcases a more intimate side of the chef, highlighting how she blends comfort with her love for food.
Beyond her fondness for dining in bed, Lawson admitted to indulging in a naughtier habit in the kitchen. “I often do something much worse [than sofa eating],” she continued. “Which is having the bowl on the kitchen surface and I lean up against it and eat standing up. I am about to take my bowl somewhere else but then I get sidetracked.”
These eating habits are deeply influenced by her personal life, particularly her relationship with her late husband, writer John Diamond. Lawson explained, “When I was married to John, my late husband, he got oral cancer and he couldn’t eat. I had to make a conscious decision to cook for myself. Cooking for myself became a very important way that I found both physical and emotional sustenance.”
In addition to her candidness about her eating habits, Lawson has been involved in a recent media discussion regarding the use of innuendos in her work. Australian TV host Hamish MacDonald commented on her style, stating, “My empty vessels are ready to be loaded, I adore the way it comes bulging up over the rim.” However, Lawson has firmly denied intentionally using innuendos, feeling that audiences often project meanings onto her that aren’t intended.
Nigella Lawson continues to captivate audiences not only with her culinary expertise but also with her openness about her personal life and habits. Her ability to blend the personal with the professional makes her a unique and relatable figure in the world of showbiz and cooking.
