Distance takes toll on marriage

Kym Marsh, the well-known actress from Coronation Street, and her spouse Scott Ratcliff have reportedly separated after just 19 months of marriage.

The couple exchanged vows in an opulent ceremony at Sandhurst military academy in October 2021. However, according to insiders, their demanding work schedules caused strain on their relationship, and despite their efforts, they were only able to spend one or two days together per week.

According to an insider, Kym's busy schedule, which included rehearsals for Strictly Come Dancing, meant that even her weekends were filled up, leaving little time for the couple to spend together. Scott, who is an ex-soldier, has a busy career and is based in barracks down south. The distance between them was just too much to handle, and they were unable to find a way to make it work.

Kym, who has been married twice before, had been keen to wed quickly after her father was diagnosed with incurable prostate cancer. Her father's diagnosis had made her realize the importance of family, and she wanted her dad to walk her down the aisle on her wedding day. The couple's wedding was a beautiful affair, with friends and family in attendance, and her former Corrie co-star Antony Cotton acting as Master of Ceremonies.

Despite their split, Kym has spoken publicly about her love for Scott, describing him as her rock, her soulmate, and her everything. She had posted a loving tribute to him on their first wedding anniversary, describing him as her best friend and thanking him for coming into her life.
