Results of the 2023 BRIT Awards
British singer Harry Styles has emerged as a major triumphant at the 2023 BRIT Awards, winning four awards in all the categories in which he was nominated. The ceremony to announce the winners was broadcast on ITV News Channel TV on Saturday night.
The former lead singer of One Direction was named Male Artist of the Year, with As It Was named Song of the Year and Harry's House the Album of the Year. He was also voted Pop/Rhythm and Blues artist of the year. On February 5, he was awarded two American Grammy Awards, including Best Album.
"That night was really, really special for me and I'll never forget it. Thank you for such a homely welcome. I'm so proud to be a British artist," said Styles from the stage of the O2 Arena concert stage in London, where the awards ceremony was held.
Founded in 2019, British indie rock band Wet Leg won in two categories Best Band as well as Breakthrough of the Year, while indie rock band The 1975 won the award for best rock/alternative music performance.
American singer Beyonce won two awards as International Performer of the Year and for International Song of the Year Break My Soul, while French DJ David Guetta was recognised as Producer of the Year.
Beyonce also won two awards, beating out Burna Boy (Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu), Lizzo (Melissa Viviane Jefferson), Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar for Best International Artist.
It is also worth noting that past BRIT Awards winners have included The Beatles and Oasis, Robert Williams, Elton John and many others. The 2022 Song of the Year and Performer of the Year awards went to British singer Adele Adkins.
