A Decade to "Yes"
LBC presenter Nick Ferrari has shared the heartwarming news of his engagement to long-time partner Clare Goodwin, marking a joyful milestone in their decade-long relationship.
The 65-year-old radio veteran revealed the details during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning, speaking with hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley. Ferrari, known for his wit and charm, recounted the memorable proposal with a mix of romance and humor.
“I am engaged to be wed to Clare,” he said. “After 10 years together, I’m adventurous, if nothing else—I finally decided she can make an honest man of me.”
The engagement unfolded against a backdrop of festive celebrations. Ferrari described their magical Christmas, which began with a family trip to Lapland, including his grandchildren and Clare’s children. From there, the couple traveled to the south of France, where the proposal took place in their favorite restaurant.
However, Ferrari admitted to keeping Clare on her toes before the big moment. He staged a playful fake proposal in a home improvement store, getting down on one knee only to ask for a screwdriver. Later, he humorously proposed with a jubilee clip — a band clamp for hoses — before they selected a proper engagement ring the following morning in a nearby village.
The announcement was met with enthusiasm by the This Morning hosts, with Shephard calling it “a wonderful way to start the year” and expressing his delight for the happy couple.
Ferrari has been a cornerstone of British radio for over two decades, celebrating the 20th anniversary of his LBC Nick Ferrari at Breakfast show last year. Known for his sharp interviewing skills and ability to connect with listeners, he began his media career at newspapers like The Sun and the Sunday Mirror before moving into radio in 2001.
The engagement marks a new chapter for Ferrari, whose mix of humor and sincerity has endeared him to audiences throughout his career.
