Biography

Sabrina Fredrica Washington is a British singer, songwriter, actress, and entrepreneur who rose to prominence as the lead singer of the UK garage and R&B girl group Mis-Teeq. Formed in the late 1990s, the group became one of Britain’s most successful urban acts of the early 2000s, with Washington performing alongside Alesha Dixon and Su-Elise Nash. Mis-Teeq achieved a run of UK Top 10 singles, including “All I Want,” “One Night Stand,” and “Scandalous,” while also gaining international recognition before the group announced its split in 2005.

Following Mis-Teeq’s breakup, Washington pursued a solo career in music and expanded her work into television and acting. She released solo material including the single “OMG (Oh My Gosh)” and later continued recording independently. Washington has also appeared in entertainment and reality television and has maintained a connection to Mis-Teeq’s catalogue through her live performances. In 2019, she released the songs “Gone” and “My Life” through her own record label, Swash Music.

Beyond performing, Washington has developed several business ventures, including her homeware brand Home by SW and her independent music label. Her career has therefore extended beyond her early success with Mis-Teeq into music, acting, television, and entrepreneurship. In 2026, Washington reunited with Alesha Dixon and Su-Elise Nash for Mis-Teeq performances, bringing the group back together publicly more than two decades after their original run.
