Biography

Kellie Denise Bright is an English actress best known for playing Linda Carter in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. She joined the programme in 2013 and is set to leave the role in 2027 after more than a decade in Albert Square.

Bright began acting at a young age and gained wider recognition as Joanna Burrows in the television sitcom The Upper Hand, appearing in the series from 1990 to 1996. She later took on a variety of television and film roles, including Cassie Tyler in Bad Girls in 2002 and Julie in the comedy film Ali G Indahouse.

From 2010 to 2011, Bright portrayed Joan Trotter in Rock & Chips, the prequel to Only Fools and Horses. The role further established her as a familiar face on British television.

Her most prominent part came in 2013 when she joined EastEnders as Linda Carter. Bright's performance earned major recognition at the 2015 British Soap Awards, where she won Best Actress and Best Dramatic Performance.

In the same year, Bright competed in the 13th series of BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing. She reached the final and finished as runner-up, adding another high-profile television appearance to her career.

Across television, film and soap drama, Bright has built a career spanning several decades, with Linda Carter becoming her longest-running and most widely recognised role.
