Marriage Breakdown Revealed
Chloe Madeley has revealed the moment she realized her marriage had come to an end. The 37-year-old fitness coach, and daughter of TV icons Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, was married to former England rugby player James Haskell for five years after a relationship spanning 11 years. They welcomed their daughter Bodhi in August 2022 and announced their separation in October 2023. Despite the split, the couple has remained amicable, often seen together with their two-year-old.
Speaking candidly on Olivia Attwood’s podcast So Wrong, It's Right, Chloe shared insights into the unraveling of their relationship. One of the core issues, she explained, was the stark contrast in their lifestyles. Chloe craved routine and stability, while James thrived in chaos, often jetting around the world.
“I’m one of those people who need structure and routine,” Chloe said. “James, on the other hand, thrives in chaos. He’s constantly on the move, and that made things difficult for us.”
While they both realized they were unhappy, neither anticipated a breakup. Reflecting on the moment, Chloe vividly recalled the day she told James that their marriage wasn't working. “I remember everything the time, the place, what we were wearing. It wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment decision, but it felt like a shift.”
Despite the end of their marriage, Chloe emphasized that they have managed to maintain a close friendship, regularly spending time together with their daughter. This evolving dynamic, she believes, is a testament to their decision. Both seem happier and more content in their current co-parenting relationship, proving that even though their romantic chapter has closed, their connection remains strong.
