Roan Speaks Out
Pop star Chappell Roan has made it clear that she won’t be endorsing any candidate in the upcoming US election, citing her deep concerns with the current state of the government.
Roan shot to fame with her debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, which became an instant success last year, delivering hits like 'Hot To Go!', 'Pink Pony Club', and 'Casual.' One of her popular tracks, 'Femininomenon', even found its way into Kamala Harris’ campaign. However, Roan made headlines when she declined an invitation to perform at a White House Pride event.
At the Governor’s Ball festival in New York, she emphasized her frustration with the government, stating, “We want liberty, justice, and freedom for all. When you do that, that’s when I’ll come.”
During an interview with The Guardian, Roan was asked whether she would follow the lead of artists like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish in supporting Harris. She responded candidly, expressing that she feels no pressure to back any political figure, saying, “I have so many issues with our government in every way.”
Roan continued, urging people to make informed voting choices: “There’s problems on both sides. I encourage people to use your critical thinking skills, use your vote—vote small, vote for what’s going on in your city.”
One issue Roan feels particularly passionate about is trans rights. In the same interview, she stressed, “Trans rights. They cannot have cis people making decisions for trans people, period.”
Beyond politics, Roan has also been vocal about her personal boundaries with fans. In a recent social media post, she addressed inappropriate behavior directed at her, emphasizing that she won’t tolerate harassment.
Chappell Roan’s bold stance, both politically and personally, continues to spark conversation, with fans and critics alike weighing in on her outspoken approach.
