Dominic Calvert-Lewin's father has come forward to address the Everton supporters' negative response towards his son following the recent 4-0 loss to Aston Villa on Sunday.

During the match at Villa Park, the striker suffered a severe facial injury after colliding with Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. Unfortunately, the injury forced Calvert-Lewin off the field after just 36 minutes of play.

Simultaneously, Sean Dyche's team displayed a disappointing performance, conceding goals from John McGinn, Douglas Luiz, Leon Bailey, and Jhon Duran. This led to a well-deserved victory for Aston Villa.

The injury adds to the frustrations faced by Calvert-Lewin, who has encountered fitness challenges over the past two Premier League seasons. His father, who attended Sunday's match at Villa Park, expressed his dissatisfaction with the way his son was treated by some fans following his departure due to injury.

In a heartfelt post shared on Facebook, Calvert-Lewin's father, Karlda, reminisced about his son's journey from being a 16-year-old substitute for Sheffield United at Villa Park to his recent full-fit start after two years.

Karlda wrote, "I witnessed his hard work and determination to recover, and though I was nervously watching, I believed he would be alright. Witnessing my son's pain brought me to tears once again, a feeling that transcends age. He is currently in the hospital receiving the care he needs."

Addressing the negative remarks directed at his son by some of the team's own supporters, he expressed, "I heard firsthand the hurtful names hurled by those claiming to be 'fans.' My son lives his dream on a daily basis, an unwavering reality, despite the thoughtless words of a few. Let bitterness persist if it must."

Karlda continued, "While this is just another challenge in a series of setbacks, he will overcome. He always does."
