Bridgerton Season 3 Update
Simone Ashley, known for her role in Bridgerton, has been announced as part of the cast for the upcoming animated feature, 10 Lives, according to Deadline. The film, which is still in its early stages, has secured Chinese distribution rights through Taost Entertainment.
Featuring an impressive ensemble cast, including Zayn Malik, Mo Gilligan, Sophie Okonedo, Bill Nighy, Jeremy Swift, and Simone Ashley, 10 Lives is currently awaiting approval from censors. Once approval is obtained, Taost Entertainment will begin the search for a distribution partner in China.
While specific plot details have not been revealed, the story centers around Beckett, a privileged cat who has taken his nine lives for granted. Realizing the significance of his remaining time, Beckett implores for an opportunity to learn from his mistakes. His request is granted, but he must adhere to certain conditions.
Directing this star-studded cast is Chris Jenkins, renowned for his work as the director of Duck Duck Goose and as an Effects Animator on beloved Disney classics such as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King.
Despite 10 Lives being in the early stages, Simone Ashley fans won't have to wait long to see her return in Bridgerton. She will reprise her role as Kate Sharma in the Netflix series, alongside her on-screen husband, Jonathan Bailey.
While the second season of Bridgerton focused on the romance between Kate and Anthony Bridgerton, the upcoming third season will delve into the love story of Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
According to the series synopsis, Penelope has abandoned her long-standing crush on Colin after overhearing his disparaging remarks about her. Determined to find a husband who values her independence as Lady Whistledown, Penelope struggles with self-assurance and fails to make a suitable match.
In an attempt to rekindle their friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope and assist her in building the confidence needed to secure a husband. However, as Colin's lessons prove effective, he must confront his own feelings for Penelope.
Bridgerton Season 3 filmed from July 2022 to March 2023, with a release date expected in late 2023 or early 2024.
