Paris, along with London, has for several years been struggling with the problem of illegal immigrants attempting to cross the English Channel and Pas de Calais in inflatable or homemade boats to reach Great Britain. Despite efforts by the authorities to solve this problem, the number of refugees is constantly growing. According to British services, more than 28,000 people entered the United Kingdom illegally using this route in 2021.
According to earlier forecasts circulated by the British Border Agency, in 2022 there will be another record in the number of illegals, many of whom are citizens of Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq. Earlier, it was reported that more than 25,000 people have reached British shores from France across the English Channel since the beginning of the year.
