Lost song

A previously unknown song by rock band Queen, sung near the end of the life of lead singer Freddie Mercury (1946-1991), could be released this September. It was announced by members Brian May and Roger Taylor on the British Broadcasting Corporation BBC.

"We found a little gem from Freddie that we'd forgotten about a bit," said Roger Meddows Taylor. "It's great, it's a real discovery. It's from the 1989 recording of The Miracle and I think it will be released in September," added the band's drummer.

Brian May explained how the track was found and that the band feared the song, titled Face It Alone, could not be recovered, but in the end those fears were not borne out.

"It was sort of never seen, although it was on everyone's radar. We looked for it many times and already thought it couldn't be recovered," said the band's guitarist. Also, Brian revealed that the technicians "kind of glued together" the fragments of the track, admitting that their work was a success. "It's beautiful and touching," the musician said.

The interview aired on BBC Radio on Saturday, the day Queen took part in a musical concert in London to mark the 70th anniversary of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

The band Queen was founded in 1970. The band currently consists of Brian May and Roger Taylor. However, earlier members included John Richard Deacon and Freddie Mercury.

However, since 2011 the band has been performing with Adam Mitchel Lambert under the name 'Queen Adam Lambert'.

It's worth mentioning that after Freddie Mercury's death, some of Queen's concerts and recordings have featured soloists such as George Michael, Elton Hercules John, Robert Peter Williams, Luciano Pavarotti, Adelmo Fornaciari (Zucchero), Paul Rodgers, and Adam Mitchel Lambert.
