Sandra Bullock’s Cheeky Nicole Kidman Joke Leaves The One Show in Hysterics

Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock’s Racy TV Moment

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman gave viewers a lively glimpse of their chemistry while discussing Practical Magic 2 on The One Show.

Their Thursday interview with Angelica Bell and Lauren Laverne quickly moved away from straightforward film promotion when the conversation turned to a comic moment involving Bullock’s trousers.

The actresses, now back as Sally and Gillian Owens, first shared the screen in Practical Magic in 1998. Kidman, 59, spoke about enjoying Gillian’s carefree personality, while Bullock, 62, suggested that same boldness is part of her co-star’s real-life character.

Laverne then mentioned the scene in which Kidman’s character pulls down Bullock’s trousers. That prompted Bullock to joke: "Anytime she wants, publicly or privately, do it.... But when I see her coming into her room, I’m like, "My pants are going down."'"

The comment had both stars laughing, and Kidman pretended she might perform the gag again while they were still sitting on the sofa.

Their playful exchange followed the film’s European premiere on Wednesday.

Practical Magic 2 reaches cinemas on September 11. The new story once again centres on the Owens bloodline and its 300-year curse, which brings fatal consequences for men who fall in love with women from the family.

Joey King and Maisie Williams feature as Sally’s daughters. Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing also return to the franchise.

Susanne Bier is behind the camera for the sequel, reuniting professionally with Bullock after Bird Box and with Kidman after The Perfect Couple.

The original 1998 film was directed by Griffin Dunne and drew its story from Alice Hoffman’s novel, later becoming a cult favourite.
