Jelly Roll is brushing off backlash after surprising some fans with jokes about Donald Trump during his guest-hosting stint on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

“Look, y’all, I get it that some people are mad at me for goofing on Trump, but if you wanted me to make jokes about Kamala Harris, you should have voted for her,” he said.
Jelly Roll has previously said he has “no political alliance,” despite his friendship with Jimmy Kimmel, a frequent Trump critic.
The singer also joked about Rosie O’Donnell, Trump’s longtime adversary, who guest-hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live! the previous week but largely avoided focusing on the president.
Jelly Roll, who has spoken openly about his criminal past and major weight loss, also referenced his recent Grammy success. He won three Grammys in 2026, including awards connected to collaborations with Shaboozey and Brandon Lake.
He closed by making clear that criticism from Trump supporters would not stop him from speaking freely, while ending the segment with a joke involving Post Malone, his collaborator and touring partner.
The episode showed Jelly Roll embracing a more outspoken late-night persona while resisting attempts to place him neatly into a political camp.
