Perrie Edwards Tells Jesy Nelson to ‘Take Accountability’ as Little Mix Feud Deepens

Friendship Door Closed

Perrie Edwards has spoken candidly about the breakdown of her friendship with Jesy Nelson, saying she has no plans to reconnect with her former Little Mix bandmate.

The 32-year-old singer addressed the fallout on Jamie Laing’s Great Company, following Nelson’s Amazon Prime documentary Life After Little Mix. In the film, Nelson claimed Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock did not properly support her mental health struggles before she left Little Mix in 2020.

Edwards rejected that version of events, arguing that the documentary placed too much blame on the remaining members while failing to acknowledge Nelson’s own role in the group’s tensions.

“What annoys me is the most, and again I have to be careful how I say this as I don't want to seem like a b**** but for me what upsets me the most is when situations like this happen and the other person doesn't take any accountability, that boils my blood!”

Edwards said she was not blaming Nelson for everything, but felt the situation had been presented unfairly. She admitted she may not have handled every moment perfectly, yet insisted she believed she had tried to support Nelson during the band’s most difficult period.

Little Mix, formed on The X Factor in 2011 under Tulisa Contostavlos during Simon Cowell’s Syco era, continued as a trio after Nelson’s exit before later going on hiatus.

Asked whether the pair could repair their bond, the South Shields-born star said the documentary changed her feelings. While she said she would always have love for Nelson, Edwards made clear she no longer has the emotional energy to bring that relationship back into her life.

The comments mark one of Edwards’ clearest public responses to the lasting fallout from Little Mix’s split as a four-piece, as Edwards, Thirlwall, Pinnock and Nelson continue to build separate solo careers.
