Strictly Hosts Speculation
Vito Coppola has shared his thoughts on who could step into the spotlight on Strictly Come Dancing following the departures of long-serving hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
The presenting duo confirmed last year they would exit the BBC flagship after decades at the helm, sparking continued speculation over their successors. Speaking at the UK Italian Awards, Coppola highlighted a mix of established broadcasters and Strictly-linked talent.
“I would like Fleur [East], why not? I think Zoe Ball could be good, or Rylan could be good… Miranda Hart. I think she would be amazing. She's very very funny.”
His suggestions reflect both familiarity and experience. Fleur East was a 2022 finalist and remains a regular BBC presence, while Zoe Ball and Rylan Clark have strong ties to the show through It Takes Two. Miranda Hart brings a proven entertainment profile.
Behind the scenes, producers led by Sarah James will ultimately determine the next chapter for the format.
Coppola also addressed recent changes among the professional dancers, with exits from Luba Mushtuk, Karen Hauer, Nadiya Bychkova and Michelle Tsiakkas marking a period of transition. He emphasised the strong bonds within the cast despite its evolving lineup, noting ongoing friendships with colleagues including Nancy Xu and Dianne Buswell.
Beyond the ballroom, Coppola continues to expand his television presence, including work connected to MasterChef, reflecting a broader trend among Strictly stars such as Anton Du Beke.
At the UK Italian Awards, Coppola received the Outstanding Achievement Award, recognising his influence within the Italian food industry as his career diversifies across entertainment.
