Kelly Targets Hannity
Megyn Kelly has sharply criticized former Fox News colleague Sean Hannity, deepening a public divide among prominent conservative media figures over the United States’ involvement in the conflict with Iran.
On Tuesday’s episode of The Megyn Kelly Show, titled Understanding America’s Goals in Iran, the former Fox News anchor said she felt compelled to address how some commentators are framing the situation and the influence they may have on the political conversation.
Kelly singled out Hannity, arguing that his close relationship with former President Donald Trump makes it difficult for him to challenge the president’s positions. “Hannity is a supplicant to Donald Trump, he would never say anything other than to puff Trump up,” she said.
Her comments come as debate intensifies within conservative media about the direction of U.S. foreign policy. Kelly has suggested that voices such as longtime conservative commentator Mark Levin have helped push a more aggressive stance toward Iran, while others have urged greater caution.
Trump, for his part, has dismissed criticism coming from Kelly and fellow conservative media personality Tucker Carlson, who has also raised questions about the conflict. Speaking to The Inner Circle on Monday, Trump said Kelly “should study her history book a little bit.”
Kelly, who has largely supported Trump politically in recent years, has recently broken with the former president on the issue. She argued on her show last week that the United States may have been drawn into the confrontation unnecessarily.
Her concerns intensified after reports that four U.S. servicemen were killed in military strikes on Iranian targets over the weekend. During the discussion, Kelly questioned whether American troops were risking their lives “for Iran or Israel.”
The dispute highlights a broader split across conservative media, where influential voices — including Hannity, Carlson and Levin — are increasingly debating the strategy and consequences of U.S. involvement in the region.
