Beckham Feud Speculation
Netflix viewers are speculating that Brooklyn Beckham’s explosive family statement could signal the groundwork for a future streaming project, following his parents’ recent success on the platform.
Brooklyn Beckham, 26, broke months of silence on Monday night with a lengthy Instagram post addressing rumours of tension within his family. In his first public statement, he said he does not want to reconcile with his parents, accusing them of spreading negative media narratives about him and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.
Brooklyn said he chose to speak out after years of staying silent, claiming misleading stories were shared to protect his parents’ public image. He pointed to several moments to support his claims, including allegations surrounding his 2022 wedding, where Victoria Beckham reportedly stepped back from designing Nicola’s dress and later disrupted the couple’s first dance. He also alleged that he and Nicola were ignored by his father during a London visit linked to David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations, after which they did not attend the public event.
Reflecting on the personal impact of distancing himself from his family, Brooklyn wrote: “I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.”
Neither David nor Victoria Beckham has publicly responded.
Following the post, online reaction quickly turned to Netflix, where the Beckham family has already enjoyed major visibility. Some viewers suggested the public fallout could evolve into its own screen project, drawing comparisons with other high-profile family estrangements that later became lucrative media ventures, including the post-royal deals secured by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Netflix’s 2023 hit docuseries Beckham chronicled David Beckham’s rise to global football stardom, his marriage to Victoria, and past controversies, including allegations involving Rebecca Loos. Victoria later released her own Netflix documentary charting her transition from pop star to fashion designer, in which Brooklyn was notably absent—a detail now being revisited amid renewed scrutiny.
