Harry’s £Millions Makeover
Harry Styles has quietly moved a long-gestating Hampstead dream closer to reality, with builders finally arriving at his north London properties after years of planning delays.
The 31-year-old singer is understood to be merging two neighbouring semi-detached houses into one expansive private estate, transforming the Grade II-listed buildings into a single luxury residence. Plans for the home reportedly include four dressing rooms, an indoor patio and a gallery, while an extensive basement is set to house a cinema, swimming pool, gym, sauna and landscaped water feature.
The project has been slow to get off the ground, but scaffolding has now gone up at the site, signalling the start of construction. Styles has also reportedly acquired a fourth nearby property, expected to function as a discreet guest house once the main residence is complete.
Permission for the redevelopment was granted earlier this year on the condition that the singer incorporates wildlife-friendly features, including hedgehog and bat boxes, as well as insect habitats, into the design. The eco-focused requirements were laid out by Barnet Council as part of the approval process.
Despite the green light, the build has not been universally welcomed. Some neighbours have raised concerns about disruption and loss of light, with one local resident saying: “It’s sad living next to a building site all the time.”
Styles’ representatives later submitted amendments to the plans, insisting the redesign would restore the property’s historic character while protecting surrounding homes. Community consultation events were also held, according to planning documents.
The former One Direction star, who is currently linked to actress Zoe Kravitz, is reportedly targeting October 2027 for completion—marking the end of a long, and closely watched, transformation in one of London’s most exclusive neighbourhoods.
