Alex Scott’s Shock Exit
Alex Scott is set to cut her time in Australia short after becoming the first celebrity evicted from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! — choosing to fly home immediately to support partner Jess Glynne as the singer’s family faces a medical crisis.
The former England footballer, 41, exited the jungle on Friday after receiving the fewest public votes. Her two-week stint included a dramatic 12,000-foot skydive and several gruelling bushtucker challenges.
While eliminated contestants typically remain in a nearby hotel until the finale, Scott confirmed she will sidestep tradition and return to the UK without delay, saying she wants to be a source of strength for Glynne as her mother recovers from a major stroke.
“I want to be there for the wrap party but I need to get home straight away,” she told the Daily Mirror.
News of Scott’s departure coincided with Glynne revealing on Instagram that her mother recently underwent urgent brain surgery, explaining her absence from the iconic end-of-the-bridge reunion moment.
Scott admitted the limited communication inside camp made the situation emotionally challenging, and her eviction came after an intense round that included Jack Osbourne, Martin Kemp, Kelly Brook, Ruby Wax, Aitch and Angryginge.
Despite the early exit, Scott said her jungle experience surpassed expectations, highlighting the unexpected friendships forged — particularly with Brook, who stood beside her in the final two before eviction results were announced.
As for who she hopes will take the crown, Scott backed EastEnders star Shona McGarty, calling a potential win transformative for the actress.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues Saturday at 9pm on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player, followed by I’m A Celebrity… Unpacked on ITV2.
