Epstein Emails Corner Andrew
Freshly uncovered emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s records have reignited scrutiny around Andrew Windsor, dismantling long-standing doubts about a photo linking him to a teenage Virginia Giuffre and prompting renewed pressure from US lawmakers for the former Duke of York to provide testimony.
Newly released documents include a 2011 email in which Epstein confirms Giuffre was photographed with Andrew, undermining claims the image was doctored. The photo is key to Giuffre’s allegation from when she was 17, which Andrew denies; his settlement admitted no liability.
Hill staff reviewing the files say Epstein’s email strips away one of the few remaining points the Duke’s representatives used to question the photograph’s authenticity, raising fresh questions about whether Andrew can continue refusing to participate in the committee’s inquiry.
Members of the House Oversight Committee are now renewing their push for Andrew’s testimony, arguing he could provide key context as lawmakers examine thousands of communications and references to high-profile individuals within Epstein’s estate. Democratic committee member Suhas Subramanyam underscored that distance poses no barrier, noting that “he would not need to travel to the United States in order to appear and could participate remotely.”
The revelations add to the royal fallout that has trailed Andrew since the Epstein scandal resurfaced. After public backlash, King Charles stripped him of military titles and honorary roles, and the Duke has remained largely absent from public life. Sources close to the palace say the review of Epstein-linked materials may prompt a deeper look at Andrew’s own correspondence as the monarchy attempts to demonstrate transparency.
Further complicating Andrew’s position, the document trove also includes messages showing he corresponded with Epstein and Maxwell even after publicly claiming he had severed ties in 2010. The exchanges, which involve discussions about press inquiries and Giuffre’s allegations, challenge the timeline Andrew has long maintained and are likely to draw additional scrutiny from lawmakers seeking clarity on the extent of their communication.
Together, the disclosures revive a scandal the palace has struggled to contain — and leave US legislators newly confident that Andrew may soon face much tougher questions.
