The documentary also explores the controversy surrounding Caroline’s legal case. The Crown Prosecution Service had initially recommended she receive a caution after a domestic dispute, but the Metropolitan Police appealed that decision, leading to assault charges. In 2023, the Met Police formally apologised to the Flack family for failing to document their rationale for challenging the CPS’s advice — a decision now under review by the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

Through Christine’s eyes, The Search for the Truth paints a raw and human portrait of a woman whose vibrant public persona masked private despair.
