Heartbreaking new details have emerged about the final days of Love Island presenter Caroline Flack, whose tragic death in February 2020 shocked fans around the world. The 40-year-old television star took her own life while awaiting trial for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend, Lewis Burton — a case that many believe contributed to her declining mental health.

A coroner later ruled that Flack had been “hounded” by sections of the media, with her arrest and intense public scrutiny exacerbating her struggles. Now, five years later, her story is being revisited in the Disney+ documentary Caroline Flack: The Search for the Truth, which premieres November 10.

The two-part series follows Caroline’s mother, Christine Flack, as she retraces her daughter’s final steps and shares deeply personal messages and voicenotes left behind. Christine opens up about her mission to reveal what really happened in the months leading up to Caroline’s death — and the institutions and individuals she believes failed her.

In one moving moment, Christine admits the pain that continues to drive her search for answers: “I’ve got nothing to lose. The worst thing in the world has happened. My daughter has died. As a parent, we think our children are always gonna be there. I want justice for my daughter.”

The documentary also explores the controversy surrounding Caroline’s legal case. The Crown Prosecution Service had initially recommended she receive a caution after a domestic dispute, but the Metropolitan Police appealed that decision, leading to assault charges. In 2023, the Met Police formally apologised to the Flack family for failing to document their rationale for challenging the CPS’s advice — a decision now under review by the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

Through Christine’s eyes, The Search for the Truth paints a raw and human portrait of a woman whose vibrant public persona masked private despair. The documentary promises to shine a light on the relentless media pressure, legal missteps, and emotional toll that ultimately shaped Caroline’s final days — offering not only a tribute, but a plea for compassion and accountability.
