Ross Almost Revealed All
Jonathan Ross has revealed that he came dangerously close to outing himself as one of the Traitors on the hit BBC reality series Celebrity Traitors, admitting that the pressure of keeping quiet was tougher than expected. The star, known for his quick wit and sharp humour, confessed that staying in character while surrounded by suspicious Faithfuls proved to be a nerve-testing challenge throughout filming.
In the celebrity spin-off of the fan-favourite series, Ross joined Alan Carr and Cat Burns as the trio of Traitors, successfully deceiving the remaining contestants as the castle drama intensified. Week after week, Faithfuls have been banished or “murdered,” leaving only a few standing — and Ross says the tension off camera was just as fierce as what viewers saw on screen.
Speaking on his podcast Reel Talk with his daughter Honey, the presenter shared that production kept a close eye on what the contestants could reveal after filming wrapped. “It’s nerve-wracking watching it for me,” Ross said. “A lot of stuff is edited out and I’m not allowed to talk about it — which makes sense to protect the game.”
He went on to describe an unseen moment that almost gave him away, explaining that Clare Balding had grown increasingly suspicious of him during their time in the castle. According to Ross, she had pieced things together earlier than viewers realised but held back from naming him, possibly to avoid retaliation from the Traitors.
Ross also hinted that fans have missed out on plenty of behind-the-scenes gold, particularly hilarious moments from Alan Carr that never made the final cut. While he’s proud of how the show has captured the tension and strategy, he admitted there’s a treasure trove of unseen clips that could fill another series entirely.
For now, viewers can only imagine just how close Jonathan came to betraying himself — and how one slip of the tongue might have changed the game forever.
